Green parliamentary group leader Katrin Göring-Eckardt has emphasized the importance of the federal election campaign for the Greens. “We are leading the election campaign of our lives because this election is about whether we will manage the climate crisis, whether we will tackle it, or whether the small and small, the ‘we’ve always done it this way’, will continue”, says Göring- Eckhardt in conversation with tagesschau24.

The Chancellor candidates from Union and SPD, Armin Laschet and Olaf Scholz, stand for this small and small. The situation in Afghanistan is totally dramatic, especially the situation of women and girls. “We need to be proactive – that is what all reports have said that it will happen.” One now has to talk to the neighboring countries about the conditions under which they are ready to accept people. In addition, the ban on deportation from Germany actually has to be pronounced, a suspension is not enough. Then it is about integration and about carrying out completely normal asylum procedures – “which is in our Basic Law.”
