Smartphone and smartwatch in a bundle for one euro? That sounds good, but are such offers really good? We calculate the current Google Pixel deals.
Selected Google Pixel smartphones are currently available from Vodafone at favorable conditions until March 27th, including the latest generation models Google Pixel 8 Pro and Google Pixel 8. They score points with a strong dual camera and a triple camera in the Pro version. What is also noticeable about the Pixel models is the high display resolution and the large memory of at least 128 gigabytes. In addition to the two current variants, the Vodafone deals also include the Google Pixel 7a and the 7 Pro for one euro. The Google Pixel Fold costs a one-off price of 99.90 euros.

The Google Pixel 7a impressed experts with its good performance as well as a sharp OLED display and a high-quality dual camera. The mid-range cell phone is currently available from Vodafone for just one euro, but with a Vodafone contract. With the GigaMobil S tariff including 24 gigabytes of data volume, those interested pay 41.99 euros per month, including a 20 percent discount on the tariff price.

The pros and cons of the deal
For the Google Pixel 7a with the GigaMobil S tariff, 1,007.76 euros plus one euro for the hardware are due over 24 months, which is the equivalent of 42.03 euros per month. If the price of 429.90 euros for the smartphone is deducted, this effectively leaves around 24.12 euros per month. The data volume is currently doubled for the S to L tariffs, so instead of twelve, the S tariff has 24 gigabytes.
New customers save around 317 euros thanks to a significantly reduced additional payment for their smartphone, a tariff discount of 20 percent as well as shipping and connection fees – not a bad deal. In addition, the data volume has doubled. However, customers should be concerned about timely termination one month before the end of the notice period. If the deadline is missed, the contract is automatically extended under the usual conditions, and the 20 percent discount on the tariff is then no longer applicable.

The Google Pixel Watch 2 LTE can also be added to your existing or new mobile phone contract with Vodafone for a one-off fee of one euro and a monthly fee of 15.99 euros. Both the data volume and the phone number can then be used with the smartwatch. So you can safely leave your cell phone at home while you’re doing sports. And: The contract term ends automatically after 24 months. However, a Vodafone tariff is mandatory.
The total price of around 385 euros is okay, but the Google Pixel Watch 2 was definitely cheaper. However, if you already have a Vodafone contract, the deal may be worthwhile.

The alternative: Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro with a contract with o2
If you would rather use a high-end smartwatch from Samsung, you can find what you are looking for at o2: The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro LTE with a memory of 16 gigabytes including the o2 Mobile S tariff with four gigabytes of high-speed data volume and an additional gigabyte per year is available just for 34.99 euros per month. A one-off payment of one euro is also required. If you are already an o2 customer, you can save a little more and pay 30.99 euros per month for the smartwatch including the o2 Mobile S partner card. The savings for new customers is 216 euros, for existing customers it is 312 euros.

The Vodafone deal for the latest Google Pixel models – and, if desired, the Google Pixel Watch 2 – is certainly impressive; customers get a good mid-range smartphone and a smartwatch with common basic features at an acceptable price. The smartwatch must have a Vodafone contract. Comparably, there is a Samsung smartwatch available at o2 for around 35 euros including the tariff. The advantage with Vodafone: connection price and shipping costs are eliminated.
