“Gondola” by Veit Helmer in the cinema: Speechlessly beautiful – culture

Anyone who hears about love and gondolas probably thinks of the black boats on which lovers sail through the canals of Venice. But although “Gondola” is a love story, it is not about this world-famous symbol of romance, but about the old, slightly rusty carriages of a cable car that connect a mountain village and a small town in the Caucasus. Here, somewhere in the air between these two places, director Veit Helmer spins a love story that does not require any words.
