Goalkeeper Neuer should revive Forsthaus Valepp – Bavaria

The national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and the Tegernsee restaurateur Johannes Rabl are to revive the historic Forsthaus Valepp as a restaurant according to the wishes of the Bavarian State Forests. “The concept of Rabl and Neuer has convinced the Bavarian State Forests. We would like to take the next steps with it,” said Jörg Meyer, head of the Schliersee forestry operation, on Monday. Ultimately, however, the decision on the award of heritable building rights lies with the budget committee of the Bavarian state parliament.

Numerous applicants responded to the public forest tender. The concept of Rabl and Neuer has prevailed. It is nature-friendly and contains a “sensitive traffic concept” that further reduces individual traffic, said Meyer. Strict criteria for operation are to be stipulated in the leasehold contract, which is designed to last several decades. “The target audience is clearly hikers, cyclists, nature lovers – and by no means anything in the direction of luxury gastronomy or the party scene,” said Meyer. Homeland and nature conservation associations had criticized the planned award of heritable building rights and speculated that luxury gastronomy could develop in the area.
