At its head, two well-known personalities from the show “Top Chef”: Glenn Viel, the starred chef, and Stéphane Rotenberg, the famous presenter of the culinary show and restaurateur.

“Just before joining the set, I asked Glenn if he would be willing to open a bistro with me, and without hesitation, we embarked on the adventure. Very quickly, we had a vision of what we wanted for the menu and the location,” Stéphane Rotenberg tells 20 minutes. Podium stands out for its dance evenings and live concerts which promise to entertain you in addition to its complete menus at 39 euros signed Glenn Viel. Gourmet, warm and lively, the bistro, open seven days a week, promises to cause a sensation.

Tangy mimosa egg with crab

“I wanted to create a good bistro with a menu of comforting French cuisine,” admits the starred chef behind the menu. “The idea is that when you look at this card, you don’t know what to choose, because everything reminds you of something, so you’ll come back.” Especially since the starter-main course-dessert formula is, as in the other addresses of Bistrots Pas Parisiens, remains set at 39 euros.

On the menu, classic starters revisited in the style of Glenn Viel, such as tangy mimosa egg with crab, tender leek with mustard vinaigrette or creamy onion soup. For the main course, the classics are in the spotlight: knife tartare, pureed sausage, one-sided salmon, cod and langoustine dumplings, fried flank steak. The “home-like” atmosphere is essential, with tasty and copious meat dishes to share (poultry or lamb), served in the center of the table, surrounded by small plates reminiscent of grandmother’s cooking.

Glenn Viel, alongside his executive chef, Yohan Flamand, promises a constantly evolving menu. And to end the meal, pastry chef Brandon Dehan leaves you spoiled for choice: floating island (copious), pavlova, chocolate tartlet, or even XXL brioche perdu accompanied by strawberry or apricot jam…

A place of celebration

The retro-patterned carpet floor, the disco ball, the lounge sofas and the misshapen orange lamps give the restaurant an ambiance directly inspired by the 1970s. From the background music to the choice of black toilet paper, it’s a real journey to the heart of a colorful era.

“From 9:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., we move the tables, and the dancing evening begins,” rejoices Stéphane Rotenberg. Whether for a professional meeting, a dance evening, a relaxing family lunch or a birthday celebration, Podium can adapt to all your needs,” continues the restaurateur. Open 7 days a week, this bistro offers, from Tuesday to Saturday, live concerts and DJ sets from 10 p.m. A first for the “Bistrots pas Parisiens” who were looking for a place where the noise would not disturb the neighbors. “We are on the banks of the Seine, surrounded by offices, which attracts customers for lunch in the afternoon and dinner and dancing in the evening, it’s great.
