The secrecy is over: Glastonbury organizers have announced the headliners for this year’s festival.

There has been speculation for months about which artists will be on stage at the Glastonbury Festival 2024. Now the organizers have announced the line-up – and it’s certainly impressive. On the Pyramid Stage, the largest of the more than 100 stages, pop star Dua Lipa (28), Coldplay, singer SZA (34) and music icon Shania Twain (58) will perform as headliners between June 26th and 30th.

Fifth Glastonbury gig for Coldplay

This makes Coldplay the first act to headline the festival five times. The band around frontman Chris Martin (47) performed on the Pyramid Stage in 2002, 2005, 2011 and 2016. In 2021, the band also gave a livestream performance because the festival was canceled due to the corona pandemic. This is Dua Lipa’s first appearance on the main stage, but she has already performed at the festival in 2016 and 2017.

Also appearing on the Pyramid Stage are artists such as LCD Soundsystem, Janelle Monáe (38), Cyndi Lauper (70) and Paloma Faith (42). Thirteen-member boy band Seventeen will be the first K-pop band to take to the main stage at Glastonbury.

More acts at Glastonbury Festival 2024

The names on the other stages are also impressive: for the second largest “Other” stage, the festival has bands such as Idles, Disclosure, The National, Two Door Cinema Club, Bombay Bicycle Club and Nothing But Thieves as well as the pop singers Camila Cabello ( 27), Avril Lavigne (39) and Anne-Marie (32) were announced.

The “West Holts” stage features Jungle, Jessie Ware (39), Justice, Nia Archives (24) and the Sugarbabes, among others, while the “Woodsies” stage awaits visitors with acts such as Jamie xx (35), Gossip or James Blake (35). The “The Park” stage features acts such as DJane Peggy Gou (32), London Grammar and King Krule (29).

Rumors of surprise acts

In the coming months before the festival, the rumor mill will probably revolve around the unannounced surprise acts. According to The Guardian The Killers, who were headliners in 2019, and the Kings of Leon (headliners in 2008), among others, have gaps in their tour calendars between June 26th and 30th.

In addition, the two pop stars Taylor Swift (34) and Pink (44) are on tour in Great Britain in June – both of them would have time during the period mentioned and would practically be close by.

The Glastonbury Festival is one of the largest open-air music festivals in the world. It was created in 1970 and takes place on a farm near Pilton, near the town of Glastonbury in Somerset, southwest England. Every year the festival has around 200,000 visitors. In addition to music acts, the program also includes theater, dance, comedy and circus performances.
