Gladbach and SC Freiburg split 0-0 at the end of the 6th matchday. Florian Neuhaus injured his knee and probably suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

Borussia Mönchengladbach drew 0-0 from SC Freiburg at the end of the sixth Bundesliga matchday. The shoe continues to pinch in the last third. With Florian Neuhaus a top performer could also fail.

Things got heated in the first quarter of an hour when Julian Weigl made his debut: good chances to score on both sides, a lot of intensity, but also two really good goalkeepers in Yann Sommer and Mark Flekken.

In contrast to the intensity with which both teams led the game, the great goal opportunities decreased significantly as the game progressed. In the end it remained 0-0, with which both Gladbach and Freiburg can basically live well; for the sports club, however, a series of four competitive wins in a row ends.

Neuhaus injured his knee – Farke suspects the cruciate ligament

On the part of the foals, the lack of power in the last third continues to cause concern. In the absence of Alassane Plea only Marcus Thuram promised a real goal threat, assisted by the two playmakers Lars Stindl and Jonas Hofmann. All in all – and head coach Daniel Farke criticized this over the entire transfer summer – that’s just not enough offensive power. Borussia is missing a real goalscorer.

To make matters worse, another regular player threatens to fail with Florian Neuhaus. After a collision, the central midfielder had to be replaced after just 34 minutes and could no longer perform cleanly. In Gladbach you have to wait for the diagnosis and keep your fingers crossed that there is no structural damage in Neuhaus’ knee.

Head coach Daniel Farke had little hope after the game: “Unfortunately, Florian looks like he has a cruciate ligament injury. It is still hoped that the medical examinations will come to a different conclusion,” he explained DAZN.

Meanwhile, Kevin Schade made his comeback at SC Freiburg and made his season debut. The lightning-fast attacker has so far been out with a pulled abdominal muscle.
