Giving away cyberpunk slashers today only

With only a few days left, the Epic Games Store is releasing a new free game every day as part of its holiday promotion. While yesterday users were able to secure a not-so-popular reboot of a very popular action series with Saints Row, today it continues with a fast single-player slasher from the first-person perspective. Players can pick up Ghostrunner from One More Level and 3D Realms, which was released in 2020, for free until 5 p.m.

Ghostrunner “very positive” on Steam

Ghostrunner is described by its developers as a hardcore slasher from a first-person perspective. Players take on the role of an advanced blade fighter with superhuman reflexes who must fight their way through a dark cyberpunk world. The goal is the Dharma Tower, which is humanity’s final future after a catastrophe. There, the key master Mara rules with an iron hand and our blade fighter has to face a whole series of enemies.

Ghostrunner is quite well received by players. On Steam, the title has 92 percent approval in all reviews, which raises it to a rating of “very positive” (as of January 1, 2024, 10 a.m.). Among other things, the fast fights and the atmosphere are praised. However, users criticize, among other things, the controls and the high level of difficulty.

The insider PC_Focus already wants to know which upcoming games can be picked up for free in the Epic Games Store. After Ghostrunner, Escape Academy should await players, followed by 20 Minutes Till Dawn. The final game in the holiday campaign will be A Plague Tale: Innocence. The weekly freebies will continue again from January 4th. From this date, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be available to users for free.
