The Banksy painting “Girl with Balloon”, which was shredded during an art auction, will be auctioned again. The London auction house Sotheby’s expects the auction on October 14th with a result of four to six million pounds (4.66 to seven million euros). A European collector bought the street artist’s picture for 1.1 million pounds in autumn 2018. Immediately after the auction at Sotheby’s, the lower part was shredded by a construction built into the frame.
Then Banksy called the picture “Love Is In He Bin” (something like: “Love is in the bucket”). “Girl With Balloon” shows a girl reaching for a heart-shaped balloon. It is one of the most famous Banksy works and has been reproduced numerous times since it first appeared on a wall in London. The identity of the presumably British artist is still unknown today.
