Giovanni Zarrella leaves “The Voice of Germany”.

The singer and presenter made his debut as a coach on the casting show in the fall. But after just one season, Giovanni Zarrella quits “The Voice”.

His own career once started with a casting show: in 2001, Giovanni Zarrella became part of the band “Bro’Sis” as one of the winners of the ProSieben show “Popstars” and celebrated great musical success. More than 20 years later, he was able to search for singing talent as a coach on “The Voice of Germany”.

Giovanni Zarrella made his debut on the red swivel chairs in September 2023 alongside rapper Shirin David, the Tokio Hotel twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz and Boyzone star Ronan Keating. His talent Desirey Sarpong Agyemang even made it to second place in the end.

Nevertheless, the presenter and musician is ending the format after just one season. He now announced this on Instagram. In his story he explained that he wanted to devote himself entirely to his “The Giovanni Zarrella Show” on ZDF in the coming weeks and months. This “deserves all my attention”. There would be three more editions of the show until late summer alone.

There are also numerous concerts and festivals where Zarrella appears. The singer also explains that he is currently recording a new album. “And all of these things led me to a sad decision,” said the 46-year-old. A few days ago, he informed the “The Voice of Germany” team “with a heavy heart” that he would no longer be a coach this year.

However, the singer does not rule out a future return. “I had one of the best experiences in my life with the show last year. Maybe again next year or in the next few years,” he sums up. It is unclear whether a successor has already been found for the entertainer. A start date for the 14th season of “The Voice” has not yet been announced; the show usually starts in late summer or early fall.
