“Germany’s next top model” starts a new season. But how did last year’s finalists fare?

In May 2021, Heidi Klum (48) crowned candidate Alex Mariah Peter (24) as “Germany’s next top model”. She prevailed in the grand final against Dascha Carriero (21), Soulin Omar and Romina Palm (22). But how did the young models fare after the end of the show?

Alex Mariah Peter

The “GNTM” winner can already look back on some lucrative jobs. Just two months after her win, she became the face of the European campaign for Kylie Jenner’s hit Kylie Cosmetics line at Douglas. The woman from Cologne could hardly believe her luck: “What is that for an incredible honor? I’m so incredibly happy about it,” she said on Instagram at the time. She is also successful on the catwalks of this world and has already walked at the fashion weeks in Paris, Copenhagen and Berlin. She is also a frequent guest at events such as the MTV Europe Music Awards 2021 or the Leni Klum x About You fashion show. She also works with clients such as Magnum, Samsung and Kerastase on her Instagram channel, which has almost 340,000 followers.

Dasha Carriero

Dasha made it to second place in the final. Even after the end of the show, the curvy model proves that beauty knows no ready-made boundaries. The 21-year-old makes a clear statement on her Instagram profile with almost 190,000 subscribers. “You don’t have to change for anyone in the world. The others will love you the way you are because you are like that. You are enough! You are beautiful!” She writes on the social media platform next to a compilation of pictures of yourself. In the show, the model convinced, among other things, at the Berlin Fashion Week. After the show, Dasha modeled for clients like Samuel Gärtner and Zalando. In addition, she took part in the quiz show “Letters Battle” on Sat.1 and in the beauty and fashion TV format “Perfect Shot by MAC”, moderated by Bill Kaulitz (32), on ProSieben.

Soulin Omar

Third-placed Soulin Omar was the big favorite last season, having picked up the most jobs. But even without the “GNTM” victory, the ambitious model made it to the top. She was signed by a major German model agency and works for Sandro Paris, Schwarzkopf, H&M, S. Oliver and Marie Claire, among others. The model, who fled to Germany to escape the war in Syria as a young girl, is also in demand on the catwalk. Among other things, she was seen at the Berlin Fashion Week.

Romina Palm

Romina Palm was the first to drop out in the final and ended up fourth. The 22-year-old worked as a model before she took part in “GNTM” and made headlines mainly through her relationship with Giovanni Zarrella’s (43) brother Stefano (31). In addition to her modeling jobs, she is also successful as an influencer. On Instagram, she lets her almost 840,000 followers share her life every day – including snapshots with her now fiancé Stefano. The 31-year-old is also successful on Instagram with over a million followers.

The new season of “Germany’s next top model” starts on February 3 at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben. 31 models will compete for the title.
