Germany makes it easier to return Nazi-looted art – culture

Surprising agreement: Federal, state and local governments agree to facilitate the restitution of Nazi-looted art.

Hundreds of thousands of works of art, books and musical instruments were stolen or extorted from their Jewish owners between 1933 and 1945. Many thousands of them are still in the collections of German museums. Germany has so far made it as difficult as possible for the descendants of their former owners to get them back.
