Everything new in season 19 of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (RTL): For the first time in almost 20 years, the casting show started on Saturday evening without jury veteran Dieter Bohlen (67).
Instead of nasty gossip, RTL will prefer to rely on the clean image of Schlager showman Florian Silbereisen (40) in the future.
Also part of the jury: pop and country singer Ilse DeLange (44) and star producer Toby Gad (53). He has already worked with pop stars like Beyoncé, Shakira, John Legend and Demi Lovato.
There were no nasty sayings, but weird birds came anyway! Roberto Barka (26) aka Dimelo Santiago provided a bizarre moment at the start of the season with a special performance. His mission: “I will turn DSDS upside down.” The DJ is certain: “Everywhere I am, there is a mood!”

That worked before with the DSDS jury.
With his own composition “Tanz zu dem Beat” he at least made nodding heads at Silbereisen and Co. Just stupid: Even if the beat was right, the lyrics of the song consisted only of the title – and singing talent was not really needed for the number.
Plenty of nods, but no “yes” for the recall.
Chief juror Silbereisen judged: “It was funny, but it wasn’t nice.” Nevertheless, he is certain: “What is definitely clear: It’s a catchy tune.” The rest of the jury saw it that way too. But while Silbereisen and DeLange didn’t see Roberto in the recall, Gad judged: “I didn’t think it was bad at all.” There was even a “yes” from the mega-producer.

Twice “No”, once “Yes” – in the end it wasn’t enough for the weird bird. His appearance on DSDS should have been worth it anyway. Gad prophesied: “He’ll probably have a hit with him now.” It remains to be seen whether it will really be enough for the big breakthrough in the end…
And how did the new jury do otherwise?
No nasty sayings, no one was pulled through the cocoa. Instead, the jury relied on friendly rejections if the talent did not fit.
