According to the members of the German Film Academy, you should probably buy a cinema ticket from April 25th – and watch “Die”. The association of German filmmakers, founded on the model of the Academy in Hollywood, announced the nominations for the 2024 German Film Prize on Tuesday. Nine of them went to Matthias Glasner’s drama, in which the director deals with memories of his family, which was torn apart by illness and bitterness. Lars Eidinger, one of the main actors, said at the premiere at the Berlinale that it was “one of the most unromantic films I have ever seen.”
