Georg Baselitz “Malelade” in the Pinakothek der Moderne Munich – Munich

Even test prints by Georg Baselitz are great art, as the 148 copies that were made in the run-up to the artist book “Malelade” prove. Now she is showing the graphic collection in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.

Well, that was an exhibition opening! The invitation to the Ernst von Siemens Auditorium of the Pinakothek der Moderne on the occasion of the presentation of the 148 test prints for the artist book “Malelade” by Georg Baselitz led to fears of a boring evening. But what followed was nothing less than a Dadaist surprise oratorio: “Nothing – no, no, no – nothing – nooo!” Jaap Blonk spoke, sang, cooed and purred, accompanied by the vocal ensemble Cantanto Admont and the ensemble Kontrapunkte under the direction of Cordula Bürgi.
