The Gas Price Commission wants only those companies to receive support from the state that largely refrain from downsizing – or come to an agreement with the works council. What else does the panel of experts recommend?

The commission of experts set up by the federal government on the high gas prices wants to link aid for companies to the extensive preservation of jobs. This is what members of the “Gas and Heat Expert Commission” said at the weekend Süddeutsche Zeitung. According to this, companies with a works council should only lose positions or locations if the respective works council agrees. For companies without a works council, a maximum of ten percent of the jobs may be cut. Otherwise, they would not be able to benefit from government-backed prices.
