A man stabbed a 52-year-old with a knife on the street in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and seriously injured him. The victim was undergoing emergency surgery and intensive care treatment, the police said on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect, a 25-year-old German, resisted being arrested at the crime scene on Thursday morning a few minutes after the attack and insulted the police officers.
The background to the crime initially remained unclear. According to the information, the suspect should probably be brought before a judge on Friday, who will decide on pre-trial detention on suspicion of attempted murder.
