No, it’s not the finale of “Game of Thrones”. George RR Martin has named a series episode that he thinks is perfect.

The end of “Game of Thrones” is more than controversial for many fans. The finale of another series did it significantly better. Finds at least George RR Martin (74). The novelist of the fantasy saga has released the final episode of ‘Six Feet Under’ voted the best series episode of all time on his blog.

One served as the reason for his choice of the best series episode List of “Vanity Fair”. The magazine recently published a selection of 25 perfect episodes from the last 25 years. Among them is “Blackwater” from “Game of Thrones”, one of four episodes in the series, for which Martin himself provided the script.

So George RR Martin’s favorite of Vanity Fair’s “perfect” episodes is the final episode of Six Feet Under. The writer goes so far as to call it “by far the best finale in TV history.” “I can’t think of a better way to do it,” he writes.

This is the finale of “Six Feet Under”

From 2001 to 2005, “Six Feet Under” followed the Fisher family, who ran a funeral home in Los Angeles. Each episode begins with the (often macabre) death of a character, who is buried by the Fishers over the course of the episode.

In the finale, author Alan Ball (66, “American Beauty”) turns the concept around. The series ends with a preview of the future life of its main characters. Including her death.

George RR Martin is not alone in his opinion. The last episode of “Six Feet Under” will be in many Lists of the best series finales of all time mentioned again and again.
