Galeria, a disaster for the textbook – economy

It’s a disaster how the federal government handled the taxpayer’s money in the case of Galeria. If it were a private investment, one would speak of a total loss, grieve and then use every means possible to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again. The government’s stimulus-reaction scheme at the money-guzzling department store Karstadt Kaufhof is quite different. There is not even a hint of the will to sort out how such a catastrophic misjudgment could have come about on the part of those responsible in politics. This applies to the current and former governing parties. The questions literally intrude.
