G-7 Foreign Ministers in Japan: More plain language for Beijing – Politics

Almost everything at the G-7 foreign ministers’ meeting revolves around China’s role in the world. The group agreed on a more binding tone, as recently struck by Federal Foreign Minister Baerbock.

The seven leading western industrialized countries have offered China to establish “constructive and stable relations” through dialogue and promote the world economic recovery in a mutually beneficial manner. At the same time, they called on the leadership in Beijing to “act as a responsible member of the international community.” This emerges from the final declaration of the G-7 foreign ministers’ meeting in the Japanese holiday resort of Karuizawa, which ended on Tuesday.
