The next games in the English Premier League have been canceled due to corona. The game scheduled for Tuesday between Leeds United and Aston Villa will not take place after the Leeds game scheduled for this Sunday at Liverpool FC had to be postponed. Also the duel of Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Arsenal FC will not kick off on Tuesday.
Wolverhampton’s request to postpone the game has been accepted because the Wanderers do not have the required number of players for the game due to a number of Covid-19 cases and injuries, the league said. Wolverhampton’s game against the Watford FC failed. With the duel Burnley FC against Everton FC a total of three games on the 19th match day on Boxing Day had been canceled due to corona.
Many players are still in isolation
At Leeds United, there were no new corona cases in the squad, but the majority of those who tested positive before the Liverpool game are not yet out of isolation, the club said. Therefore, there are not enough players available.
In total, the Premier League canceled 15 games in the last two and a half weeks due to corona cases in different teams.
