There are objects that inevitably set the mental cinema in motion, and a street sign found on a construction site in Fürth these days is one of them. The object is crushed, dented and shattered, the capital A took a hit, the capital H didn’t, while “itler” probably saw himself subjected to solid violence. In spite of such deformations, Fürth’s city archivist Martin Schramm has no remaining doubts: This relict, which came to light during excavation work, was once the sign for “Adolf-Hitler-Straße”.
