Last Saturday, in “Quelle époque”, the presenter described the comedian Artus as “boring” when he talked about his sobriety. The host of Europe 1 recalled that it was “second degree”.

This Tuesday, April 30, in his show “Pascal Praud et vous” on Europe 1, Pascal Praud received journalist Philippe Val. The two men discussed a recent controversy targeting the presenter Léa Salame . This Saturday, April 27, in her show “What a time!”, the person concerned described her guest Artus as “tiresome” while he confided that he no longer drinks alcohol.

“You are no longer anxious, but you have become boring”, she had told him a second time. The comedian replied, with a laugh: “Fuck you!” It was to this exchange that Pascal Praud reacted. “When she said that, it seems to me, it was second degree”assures the host of Europe 1. “She played with her guest” with reference to “the caricature of someone who doesn’t drink.”

Pascal Praud continues by analyzing what, according to him, is just a misunderstood joke. “Actually, she’s playing, Léa. She uses second degree, she has fun, insists the columnist. He then deplores the lack of humor of the public and of the person concerned, Artus. “You already have Artus who takes it at face value, and you also have the public who takes it at face value…”

“It’s becoming unbearable», he asserts before noting Artus’ words after Salamé’s remark: “Instead of laughing about all that, we come to a moralistic discussion about alcohol (…), that’s not the issue.” Following Léa Salamé’s remark, the comedian responded: “It’s actually good to not necessarily drink alcohol.”

The presenter had given him a simple “Oh dear, say so”, which some viewers clearly did not appreciate. Following their exchange, Artus spoke at greater length about his experience of sobriety. “Plus, I don’t know how to do things by halves, so I drank a lot”he delivered on the set of “What a time!”. “I had epileptic withdrawal seizures alcoholic, my brain was so telling me “you have to…(drink), that’s it”.”
