Fürstenfeldbruck is one of four municipalities that will try out a new payment model in Bavaria from March. The goal: reduce incentives for illegal immigration.

The Fürstenfeldbruck district should test the new payment card for refugees in advance. This makes it one of four model communities alongside the city of Straubing and the districts of Günzburg and Traunstein. In the future, part of the state benefits for asylum seekers throughout Germany will be provided as credit on a payment card and will no longer be paid out in cash. Politicians hope that this will reduce incentives for illegal migration and combat the financing of smuggling crimes.
