World Cup 2022: Germany wants a first win against Spain

Update from Sunday, November 27th, 4:45 p.m: Fans and experts are looking forward to the Lineup by national coach Hansi Flick. Does he change his starting XI in several positions or does he only make a few changes? It is likely that Nico Schlotterbeck will have to vacate his place and Thilo Kehrer will slide in. But otherwise? Everything open!

First report: Qatar – On the 2nd match day of the World Cup Group E plays Germany versus Spain – and is against after the opening defeat Japan properly under pressure. The Spaniards, on the other hand, gave a gala performance and hit Costa Rica with 7:0. This makes the Iberians the big favorite to win the group and the DFB selection only outsiders. With a win over Spain, however, Germany could rehabilitate themselves and recharge their batteries on the way to the knockout stages, which they would then have in their own hands on the last day of the game.

World Cup 2022: Germany meets Spain

After the Japan game, there was a great fear of being eliminated after the second matchday, but unexpected help came from Costa Rica for the German team. The Central Americans beat Japan 1-0 in a close game and have the Starting position in Group E thus completely changed. Due to Costa Rica’s success, Germany definitely cannot be eliminated against Spain, even if they lost, the chance of reaching the round of 16 would still be intact.

A win over Spain would put Germany in control of their last game against Costa Rica. If this game is also won, the entry into the knockout phase would be fixed. Should it be enough for a draw for coach’s team Hansi Flick, the DFB-Elf would be dependent on Schützenhilfe on the last day of the game. Only if Spain wins and Spain succeeds would Germany continue in the tournament.

World Cup 2022: Will Germany succeed in surprising Spain?

Should the German team lose the game against Spain, they need their own win and a success from Spain to progress. Since it is at the World Cup 2022 in Qatar when it comes to goal difference, the DFB team must have a better one than Japan. The Asians are currently 2-2 and Germany 1-2. For example, Germany would already have a better goal difference if they lost 2-1 to Spain themselves, defeated Costa Rica 2-0 and Spain beat Japan 2-1. (smr)
