A toddler fell from the second floor of an apartment building in Schwabing on Thursday evening and suffered life-threatening injuries. Rescue workers began providing first aid to the 23-month-old girl on the sidewalk, the fire department announced on Friday. A pediatric emergency doctor administered anesthesia on site.
The child was then taken to the shock room of a Munich clinic and immediately operated on. Several special crisis intervention workers looked after the child’s parents and relatives. The fire department did not provide any further information about the child’s health. It is not yet clear why the girl fell out of the window of the house, but the police are investigating to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
