After his success last weekend against Manchester City in the Community Shield (3-1)Liverpool begins its Premier League season on Saturday with a trip to Fulham (1:30 p.m., a match to follow live on our site). Second last season, the Reds are aiming for the title this year and victory is already imperative in a championship where each point lost is quickly crippling.
For this trip to London, Jurgen Klopp, deprived of many players (Keita, Jota, Jones, Konaté, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas), lines up a fairly classic team in 4-3-3 with the hinge Matip-Van Dijk and the side Alexander-Arnold and Robertson. Captain Henderson in the middle will be supported by Thiago and Fabinho. Finally, in front, Firmino is preferred to Nunez with Diaz and Salah at his side. The Portuguese Palhinha, the Cottagers’ flagship rookie, is the starter in the midfield. Finally, Andreas Pereira, also arrived this summer, will play in support of Serbian striker Mitrovic.
