From state politics: The three percent slap for the FDP – Bavaria

The Liberals are trying to be attractive to citizens and thus be an alternative for Markus Söder in the next government – instead of Hubert Aiwanger’s Free Voters. But the polls deal them a low blow.

This week started with a pleasant flourish for the Bavarian FDP. There was in Mirror A double interview appeared with the CSU honorary chairman Horst Seehofer and his daughter Susanne Seehofer, FDP state parliament candidate. The former Prime Minister referred to the secrecy of the vote, but called himself a “conservative-liberal” and left open the option of an intra-family vote for the FDP. And at least he didn’t make a particularly fiery plea for Markus Söder and the CSU. That would have pleased the struggling FDP campaigners, as would Seehofer’s advice to his party to form a black-yellow coalition if it had a majority after October 8th. So a departure from the Free Voters and Hubert Aiwanger.
