5:54 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 6: 4, 3: 6, 1: 2

The Olympic champion holds against it. He makes it to the start. But he can’t take the chance, Etcheverry takes the game with another great stop-winner. Zverev has to stay tuned now. Otherwise it will be difficult in the third set. The German holds his service.

Kryptonite Swiatek: Gauff just feels “bad”

5:44 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 6: 4, 3: 6, 0: 1

Zverev opens the third set. The worm is now in the German. He gives up his service to zero. Zverev played four (!) unforced errors in a row and gave the Argentine the game to make it 1-0.

After a short break, Etcheverry also opens the second set. The Argentine apparently didn’t let the loss of the set unsettle him too much. With the second ace of the match, he gets the cue ball. Then he forces Zverev to make a mistake and gets the first service game.

4:55 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 6: 4

The Argentine doesn’t give up. Etcheverry wins his next service game again with ease. Zverev still serves to win the set. But his opponent defends himself strongly. 4:37 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 4: 3

Zverev follows up again: He serves very hard and wins his service to zero. The quota for the first has also increased in the meantime. From Zverev’s point of view, this is going in the right direction. Now the Olympic champion is back on the trigger. He earns more breakballs. Etcheverry misses a forehand. And there’s the break!

4:29 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 2: 3

Etcheverry has so far had the better rate on the first serves (71 to 64 percent). But Zverev keeps coming back to the rallies when he serves. The German gets his next break chance, but he misses the ball. With a brilliant winner, the Argentine then gets the 3:2.

4:23 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 2: 2

Zverev tries to build up pressure again when the opponent serves. But Etcheverry serves very well and holds at love. But Zverev also follows suit. Perfect stop: Etcheverry outsmarts Zverev

4:14 p.m .: Zverev – Etcheverry 1: 1

Zverev himself starts with a double fault. But then the German puts more pressure on him. He determines the rallies and serves well.
