Bouncy castle blown into the Elbe: nine injured
There was a major operation in Magdeburg: a bouncy castle was blown into the Elbe. Six children and other people were injured. The event was canceled.
Nine people are in on Sunday Magdeburg was slightly injured when a bouncy castle was hit by a gust of wind at an event. According to emergency services, the bouncy castle was blown into the Elbe and four children were on it. A total of six children were injured, the police said on Sunday.
It was a fortunate circumstance that the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) set up a stand at the housing cooperative’s festival, said fire department operations manager Ulrich Claus to the German Press Agency. This meant that the children could have been rescued quite quickly. One person fell in the excitement. According to Claus, at least four people were taken to hospital, and other people were treated on site as outpatients.

According to witnesses, the bouncy castle was hit by a tornado. “The bouncy castle itself did not sink completely into the Elbe and ended up in the area of the Elbe bank. Two children fell into the Elbe,” the police said. “The exact circumstances surrounding what happened are the subject of further investigation.” The police later secured parts of the bouncy castle and loaded them into their emergency vehicles.
