Freilassing: Construction worker dies in accident at train station – Bavaria

A 32-year-old man died in a construction site accident at Freilassing train station on Friday morning. As the Upper Bavaria South police headquarters announced, two workers fell several meters from a roof. The 32-year-old was also hit by falling objects. The second man, a 26-year-old, survived with serious injuries.

According to police, the accident happened around 9:55 a.m. when two construction workers were standing on the roof above the platform to dismantle panels. The 32-year-old is said to have fallen through the roof and the loose panels fell on him. The second man also fell through the hole in the roof.

Attempts at resuscitation by rescue workers failed and the worker died at the scene of the accident. The second man was flown to the hospital by helicopter; his life is not in danger, according to police. The Traunstein criminal police are now investigating how the fatal accident could have occurred.
