Free State takes over the Gema fees for clubs – Bavaria

Volunteer associations can in future have the free state pay the costs for Gema fees. A spokesman for the Ministry of Social Affairs in Munich announced on Monday that the Bavarian state government would take over the Gema fees from clubs for two events per year. Minister Ulrike Scharf (CSU) and Georg Oeller, member of the Gema board, signed a corresponding agreement on Monday.

It is particularly important to her that this strong sign of appreciation for volunteer work is given, said Scharf. Clubs can therefore report their events on the Gema portal from April 5th. The regulation applies to all club events without entry fees up to an event area of a maximum of 300 square meters – inside and outside. The Free State provides 2.5 million euros annually for this purpose. This should be able to support up to 120,000 events per year.
