This Saturday, ProSieben is sending “Beat the Star” into the race as a jungle camp competition. The duel between Max Kruse and Frederick Lau was planned, i.e. footballers against actors. However, Lau had to cancel at short notice – he was infected with Corona. He admitted this Instagram known and ProSieben also confirmed the report. The show should still go on stage from 8.15 p.m.

“Frederick Lau has a positive corona test. Unfortunately, he cannot compete in ‘Beat the Star’,” the broadcaster announced on Friday evening. In the same tweet, ProSieben promises “a strong duel nonetheless” – apparently a replacement candidate is already ready. Who that is, they were allowed to fans puzzle first.

This star replaces Frederik Lau
Speculations have been piling up online lately. Viewers post their suggestions under the ProSieben tweet: From Jan Böhmermann to Max Giesinger to Stefan Raab himself, everything is there. But only at the beginning of the show at 8:15 p.m. does the broadcaster reveal the secret: ProSieben presenter Steven Gätjen takes on Max Kruse as a substitute for Frederik Lau.
For Frederick Lau, the topic “Beat the Star” is not over yet, because the “Victoria” actor is now simply scheduled for one of the next issues. This should make many fans forgiving. The actor, meanwhile, showed up social media a section of his positive PCR test and only wrote: “Without words…” The disappointment seems to weigh heavily on him at first.

Incidentally, this situation is not unusual for ProSieben. In 2020, Cathy Hummels had to cancel her participation in “Beat the Star” at short notice because she was in contact with a person who had tested positive. She was replaced by the singer Jasmin Wagner aka Blümchen. Now it remains to be seen who will replace Frederick Lau with the Union kicker Berlin measures. It is already the second issue of “Schlag den Star” this month.
