Carlson’s nightly show is the network’s most successful, having had up to 4.5 million viewers. Minutes after this news hit the ticker, CNN announced that host Don Lemon had been evicted. Carlson and Lemon are two of the most recognizable faces on US television. Applied to Germany, it is as if Anne Will and Marietta Slomka had been fired within minutes.
