Fourteen earthquakes counted in a single night near Draguignan

Fourteen quakes in one night. The central office of French seismology counted no less than 14 tremors in the night alone from Monday to Tuesday, in the region of Draguignan, in the Var.

As related Var-Morning, the strongest was recorded around 5:13 a.m., with a magnitude of 2.3 and an epicenter located 13km deep between Aiguines and La Palud-sur-Verdon. The others fluctuated between 0.8 and 1.6 on the Richter scale. They have all been analyzed and classified as earthquakes, while quarry blasts are common in the area.
