Four roads cut and schools evacuated due to bad weather

If the violent bad weather this Friday in the Hautes-Alpes will undoubtedly delight the ski resorts, they are currently wreaking havoc in the north of the department. Four roads were closed to traffic and a gendarmerie operational center was deployed in Embrun.

Schools in the towns of Saint-Crépin, Guillestre, Argentière-la-Bessée and Risoul were “invited to no longer provide lessons” in order to facilitate and anticipate the maneuver of school transport, indicated the gendarmerie. Placed on orange thunderstorm flood alert, the department will see these bad weather conditions continue to increase in intensity in the evening with a drop in temperatures.
