Four hundred cubic meters of water stolen from a retention basin by a motocross club

In the midst of a historic drought and with fires in all directions, the news was cause for concern. Some four hundred cubic meters of water from a retention basin located in the community of communes of Aubenas, in Ardèche, were stolen, reports the Dauphine Libere. The intermunicipal company filed a complaint on Friday, wondering who could have done it.

This Sunday, France Blue reported that the local motocross club had come forward. “We wanted to use it eventually for the motocross track at our event this weekend. There are 2,000 people. A few years ago, there was a fire on a motocross track”, explained the co-president of the association to public radio, adding that he regretted not having requested authorization and pledged to refill said tank.
