In Las Vegas, Verstappen can reach Vettel’s record of 53 Formula 1 victories. And he can still beat it this year. Overall, only three drivers achieved more victories than Verstappen.

Max Verstappen has Sebastian Vettel’s next record in his sights. The 26-year-old Dutchman can equal the 53 Grand Prix victories of the German, who retired at the end of last year, at the next Formula 1 race.

With his success at the São Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday, Verstappen brings his total to 52 successes. And there are still two races left this year: the premiere in Las Vegas in two weeks, and the season finale in Abu Dhabi the following weekend.

Cheers overtaken

In the all-time victory list, the three-time world champion overtook four-time champion Alain Prost. The now 68-year-old Frenchman won 51 races in his career. The front runner is Lewis Hamilton. The 38-year-old Mercedes driver and seven-time world champion has celebrated 103 Grand Prix victories so far.

Michael Schumacher (54) had 91 successes in his career. After that, Vettel comes third and Verstappen comes fourth. With ten wins in a row this year, Verstappen had already surpassed Vettel’s record of nine wins in a row from the 2013 season, also in a Red Bull. With 17 victories in one season, he also achieved more than any driver before him ever achieved in a year.
