The 23-year-old is doing well physically, a spokesman for the Haas team said on Saturday (March 26, 2022) in Jeddah. A few minutes later, team boss Günther Steiner told Sky broadcaster: “Mick is fully conscious, he spoke to his mother. He has no external injuries. Now he’s doing a safety check in the hospital. Mick is fine, that’s the most important thing.”

After Schumacher accident: Qualification interrupted

In the second round of the starting position hunt on the ultra-fast street circuit, Schumacher crashed sideways into the barriers at high speed. The car belonging to the son of record world champion Michael Schumacher was thrown across the track and then came to a standstill, badly damaged.

The medical car and the ambulance stopped at the scene of the accident, which the cameras now avoided. The qualification was immediately suspended.
