Formula 1 in Miami live: schedule, broadcast, race

Miami/Munich – One thing is already certain: the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami will be spectacular. The organizers are planning a glamor event like in Monaco for the premiere in the Sunshine State and are offering the spectators around the Hard Rock Stadium and on the screens a lot.

Where is the race and what does the route look like?

The race takes place at the Miami International Autodrome. The course is a street circuit and loops around Hard Rock Stadium, where the NFL team the Miami Dolphins normally play their home games.

The 5.41 km long track offers a total of 19 curves and three DRS zones.

When do the free training sessions take place?

The race weekend starts with free practice on Friday. FP1 starts at 20:30 German time, FP2 follows at 23:30 German time.

The third free practice session will follow on Saturday at 7 p.m.

  • Free Practice 1: Friday, May 6th – 8:30 p.m. German time
  • Free Practice 2: Friday, May 6 – 11:30 p.m. German time
  • Free Practice 3: Saturday, May 7th – 7:00 p.m. German time

When does qualifying and the race take place?

After the third practice session, qualifying follows at 10 p.m. German time. The race finally starts on Sunday at 9:30 p.m. German time.

    • Qualifying: Saturday, May 7th – 10:00 p.m. German time
    • Race: Sunday, May 8th – 21:30 German time

Where is the race broadcast?

The Miami Grand Prix cannot be seen on free TV. Instead, all sessions can be seen on pay-TV broadcaster Sky on TV and in the paid live stream.

What are the specifics?

With a top speed of around 320 km/h and an average speed of 220 km/h, the circuit in Miami is another very fast street circuit.

A lot of spectacle is also provided off the track. There is a beach section with palm trees and a beach along the route, as well as an imitation yacht harbor – a “fake marina”. In the days surrounding the Grand Prix on Sunday (from 9:30 p.m. in the live ticker on ran.de) a fake harbor including ships and an artificial water surface can be observed.
