the Olympic flame has arrived in Marseille and begins its journey across the country in a festive atmosphere

It’s the big day for Florent Manaudou and the first French torchbearers, including Soprano, Tony Parker and Jean-Pierre Papin. Twelve days after boarding the Belemthe most famous French three-masted ship, at the port of Piraeus in Athens, the Olympic flame will disembark in Marseille on Wednesday evening, before beginning its journey through several French departments – but not all.

On this occasion, and seventy-nine days before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, we invite you to follow this special day with us. On the program, numerous information and testimonies gleaned by our journalists present in Marseille and two chats, one with the sports historian Patrick Clastres (also author of a bimonthly column in our columns) from noon, the other with Patricia Oudit, special correspondent of World on the Belem to describe the atmosphere on board, at 4 p.m.

You can participate in this live broadcast throughout the day by sending us your comments and questions about the flame and its journey.
