For the 20th time in a row, Fürth is the safest city in Bavaria – Bavaria

The Bavarian crime statistics for 2023 show: Fürth has been the safest big city in Bavaria for 20 years in a row. “The first-class security situation is a great success for the Fürth police and the city of Fürth,” congratulated Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) at a ceremony with Mayor Thomas Jung (SPD).

With a crime rate of 4,684 crimes per 100,000 inhabitants and a clearance rate of 68.5 percent, the citizens of Fürth were able to live extremely safely last year, according to Herrmann. Fürth is therefore also safer than the city of Munich, which was recently recognized by the Ministry of the Interior as the safest German city with more than 200,000 inhabitants. Fürth was also able to successfully defend the title of “Safest German Large City” (over 100,000 inhabitants) in 2022, for the thirteenth time since 2010.

Even if there are no nationwide comparative data for other major German cities for 2023, the Interior Minister is confident that “Fürth can continue to maintain one, if not the top, national position here.” A large city includes cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants.
