For Olivier Faure, Jean-Luc Mélenchon can no longer “be the one who embodies the left and ecology”

The Socialist Party will meet its national council this Tuesday evening to discuss a possible exit from the left-wing Nupes alliance.

The first secretary of the socialist party Olivier Faure estimated on Tuesday that the leader of La France insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, could “no longer claim to be the one who embodies the whole of the left and ecology”.

Olivier Faure specified on France Inter that he would propose to the national council of the PS on Tuesday evening “a moratorium” to “obtain a clarification” without which the socialists “will no longer participate in the Intergroup of the Nupes” at the National Assembly, after the refusal of LFI executives to designate Hamas as a “terrorist” organization.
