For lack of audience, TF1 deprograms the American series

Eric Bana as John Meehan, aka “Dirty John” – Nicole Wilder / Bravo

This is called a flop. Launched on June 1 on TF1, Dirty John will no longer have the honors of a prime time broadcast on Tuesday evening. Contacted by our colleagues from Puremedia, the private channel indicated that it was deprogramming the American series as of this day, because of the bad audience figures recorded by the first episodes.

The launch party of Dirty John had already been considered a failure with 2.30 million viewers watching the first two episodes, or only 11% of the public. A week later, as it faced the friendly France-Bulgaria match on M6, the series attracted just 1.66 million people, for an audience share of 7.4% on the whole of the public. A score far too low which was right for the future of the program on TF1.

Momo to the rescue … facing football

To try to find colors, the channel will offer the film Momo, released at the end of 2017 and worn by Catherine Frot and Christian Clavier, on Tuesday June 15 instead of Dirty John. It is difficult to say if the feature film will record a better score than the American series since opposite, M6 will broadcast the very first match of the France team at Euro 2021 against Germany.
