A cordless drill/screwdriver is part of the basic equipment for do-it-yourselfers. On eBay there is currently a Bosch drill/driver set with numerous accessories that has been reduced in price. But how good is the deal really?
The GSR 18-2-LI cordless drill from Bosch, including accessories, will cost just under 170 instead of 260 euros from the online retailer eBay. Is there a bargain behind the offer that DIY enthusiasts should grab?
Bosch Professional cordless drill/driver for 170 euros: a top deal?
Two batteries, a charger, a GLI-VariLED lamp and a transport case, together with the GSR 18-2-LI cordless drill, are part of the DIY set, which is currently being offered for 169.95 euros. The drill/driver from the Bosch Professional series has a powerful two-speed gearbox and a brush motor and combines the advantages of a drill with those of a cordless screwdriver in one device. Another advantage: The drill/screwdriver comes with a matching battery and charger, which do not have to be purchased separately and are conveniently compatible with other devices in the Bosch Professional 18V system series. If the battery or charger breaks, they can be easily replaced.

All individual parts from the cheapest dealer would add up to a total of around 240 euros.
Cheaper alternative: cordless drill from Einhell
An alternative from Einhell that is around 50 euros cheaper is available on Amazon for 117.22 euros. Here too, the drill/screwdriver is available in a package with accessories. Included are a 2.5 Ah battery, a case, a charger and a 39-piece accessory set. As with the Bosch version, the Einhell drill/driver also works with standard batteries from the Power-X-Change series, so that they can easily be purchased and replaced in the event of damage. And there are other similarities to the Bosch screwdriver, for example the two-speed gearbox and the LED lighting, which can be used to illuminate dark areas when drilling or screwing.

Differences between the two devices can be found in the speed. Here the Bosch cordless drill/screwdriver achieves slightly more speed than the Einhell version at 1,400 revolutions per minute. The screwdriver from Einhell is slightly lighter at 1.01 kilograms. And there are also differences when it comes to accessories. The Bosch Professional device comes with two batteries, while Einhell, which was designed specifically for hobby DIY enthusiasts, only comes with one battery.
