The Paris Saint-Germain summer transfer window has started. The Parisian club formalized this Thursday evening the recruitment of Vitinha, a 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder whose arrival seemed to have been confirmed for several days. After having exercised the option to buy Nuno Mendes and recorded some returns from loaned players, the French champion thus opens his market, with Luis Campos as “football adviser”.

In its press release, PSG specifies that Vitinha has signed up for five seasons, from FC Porto. He is coming off a convincing season individually and successful collectively, with a Cup-Championship double at the end of the day. Witness to his good performances: he honored his first three selections with Portugal, in 2022.

Vitinha participated in the Champions League, during this same 2021-2022 exercise. The previous season, he had evolved in the Premier League, loaned to Wolverhampton. His profile seems close to that of Marco Verratti. He is likely to bring creativity to the Paris Saint-Germain midfield, but his complementarity with the “little owl” raises questions.

As the Parisian transfer window settles, the situation could soon also become clearer on the bench side. According to The Team, an agreement has been reached between Paris Saint-Germain and Mauricio Pochettino, regarding the termination of the latter’s contract.
