Three years ago it was pretty hot in the summer too. And when you bought an ice cream at the ice cream parlor, there was often the question: “To eat here or to go?” Stupid question, you thought, it doesn’t matter. But it wasn’t: Because the ice cream parlor had to charge 19 percent VAT for ice cream while sitting down. However, if the customers went further, only seven percent were due. For them, the lower tax rate applied to food that was prepared but not consumed locally.
