Actually, farmer Martin Stadler should be extremely satisfied with the price he has been getting for the milk from his cows since the beginning of May. It is currently 49.5 cents, plus one cent for keeping his 70 cattle in open stables. He could only have dreamed of such a payment a few years ago, when he received just 30 cents for a liter of milk and had to ask himself whether it really was a wise decision when he invested one million euros in a high-tech barn in 2013 .
