Since her abdominal surgery in mid-January, things had become quiet around the princess – but now there was a sign of life: the wife of the heir to the British throne, Prince William, was sitting in a car as her mother Carole Middleton’s passenger. The two were spotted near Kate’s home in Windsor.

The 42-year-old had been in hiding since her operation on January 16th – which sent the internet into a frenzy. Various conspiracy theories made the rounds online. That’s why the palace made its own statement for the first time on February 29th.

The theories were recently fueled by Prince William of all people: On Tuesday (February 27th), he canceled his participation in the funeral service in honor of the former Greek King Constantine II at short notice. His brief reason: “personal reasons”.
