Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew, Gillian Anderson as journalist Emily Maitlis: The first pictures of the Netflix film “Scoop” are here.

Netflix has released the first images of “Scoop – A Royal Interview”. The film is about the legendary interview that Prince Andrew (63) gave on the BBC news program “Newsnight” in 2019. In it, the royal defended, among other things, his friendship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) and talked about his head and neck. Two days later he resigned from his royal duties.

The images from “Scoop” now show how detailed the film recreates the infamous interview. The costumes and sets correspond almost exactly to their real counterparts.

Gillian Anderson as interview partner

Rufus Sewell (56) has short gray hair that looks like Andrew, although the “The Man in the High Castle” star actually looks nothing like the prince. The similarity between the original and the film character is greater for Gillian Anderson (55). The “X-Files” actress embodies the journalist Emily Maitlis (53), who probed Prince Andrew.

In addition to Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, Billie Piper (41, “Secret Diary of a Call Girl”) was also in front of the camera for “Scoop”. She plays the producer Sam McAlister, who initiated the spectacular conversation. The film is based on her book “Scoops” about the BBC’s biggest scandal interviews. The Netflix film not only shows the interview, but also the negotiations behind the scenes that made it possible.

In the interview, which became a PR disaster for the royal family, Prince Andrew also rejected Virginia Giuffre’s (40) allegations. She claims she had sex with Andrew when she was underage under pressure from Jeffrey Epstein. In 2022, the brother of King Charles III. (75) settled Giuffre’s lawsuit out of court. He denies her allegations.
